It’s hard to believe I’ve been gallivanting around Second Life (SL) for over 10 years. At this rate, I’m going to have to start lying about my age on the day I joined SL. I swear I was only eighteen when I opened my Second Life account. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

I thought it would be fun to do a kind of “Now and Then” nod to my very first post Star Light, Star Bright. So, I’ve revisited one of my favorite freebie gateways.

Is it just me, or is 2020 becoming the most freebieliscious year ever? There are simply not enough hours in the day to gather, let’s not even mention blog, all of the awesome goodies flooding the grid this year.

Luckily for us, my honey and I agreed to have a quiet low key Valentine’s Day at home. Which means I have plenty of time to share all the goodies I’ve been collecting this week.

The outfit featured today is from Suna Design. Suna’s Valentine’s Day gift is an awesome 500 Linden gift card for its group members. Joining is free, so everyone can enjoy! Best of all, the gift amount will get you several items or one fatpack. Thanks Suna for the generous gift.

Here’s a back view. The texture on this dress is exceptionally nice. I also like the detailing of the halter ties and shoulder straps. Gifts in Suna Design are dotted around the store. Today’s hairstyle is a nice gift from Alli&Ali’s marketplace store. This is basically a wearable demo that allows for resizing and five style changes. Adventurous dressers can even enter edit mode on the hair and add a tint of their choosing.

I love hassle free shopping! Nothing tickles me more than opening a box packed with a complete outfit. Yesterday I visited The Free Dove and found the Kim outfit. Kim comes with a sexy little dress, strappy heels, and a mesh necklace. If tomato red is one of your colors, then this dress is for you!
Today’s featured hair is the Invincible functional demo from Alli & Ali. Invincible is actually a rigged mesh man’s hairstyle. The hairline has a wide widow’s peak that I chose to minimize by wearing a dark hairbase. From the front Invincible simply looks like a unisex style. However, when viewed from the back, the gap between a female’s body and the flowing hair is a dead giveaway that it was rigged for men.
That gap is not necessarily a bad thing. Rigged men’s long hairstyles offer the perfect workaround for females desirous of wearing long hair with bulky coats and hoodies. I always recommend wearing the bulking item you’d like your hair to flow over, then trying rigged male demos. This way you’re able to check if the fit will work for you without wasting your Lindens.

I almost forgot to mention that both the dress, and the heels are sized for Maitreya, Slink, Belleza, and TMP mesh bodies. The heels are sized for high feet only.

FYI: Today’s look could be the new you! This entire avatar, from head to toe, is free. The mesh head/body is none other than the lovely Valentina gift from Altamura to Ajuda Brasil Voluntarios. I even found a skirt at Kamiri that includes a mesh model specifically for the Altamura body. Of course, the Kina miniskirt is also sized to fit Maitreya, Slink, Belleza, eBODY Curvy, and TMP bodies.

Here’s a nice closeup of those feline eyes. They come with an eight color HUD. Catwa and Omega compatible head wearers can use the included appliers. Everyone else can wear the mesh eyes controlled by a color change HUD.
This whimsical hairstyle is one of several past group gifts available for members of NYNE’s free group. Odell comes with a color picker HUD which allows for unlimited color changing. Two rigged mesh models are included, one for regular and the other for boobies.

Here’s a lovely shiny dress perfect for outdoor spring music festivals, walks along the boardwalk, and afternoon tea. The Pepper mesh dress is sized for Maitreya, Slink, and classic avatars. This dress, along with a sizable cache of goodies, can be found at !Soul. The location I’ve landmarked for you is a freebie room, so everything costs 0 Lindens if you’re a member of the !Soul group. Did I mention there is no group join fee?

The surprisingly flirty back gives you a chance to show off all those hours spent in the gym.

Today’s hair is one of the many free luckyboard styles available at Olive Hair. The Cutie style is perfect when you want to show off your back, comes in an awesome fatpack, and is a “must have” item for long hair lovers. Olive’s luckyboards and midnight mania are free for everyone to play.
Visit AvaWay, join their free group, and walk away with no less than three new pieces of jewelry. The Twins Set is copy/mod and unrigged, which allows wearers to make extra copies and layer the pieces which is precisely what our model did.

Though the Kenya boots were featured in my last post, unfortunately they were hidden under the jumpsuit. These boots are so nice, I thought they needed a chance to shine. The included eight color HUD allows for lots of customization. The only drawback is that they are sized only for Slink’s hourglass/physique bodies. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t try them on a body with Slink compatible feet. Our model is wearing Altamura’s Juliet body, and as you can see, the model for Slink classic worked quite well.

It’s International Women’s Day and the grid is popping with gifts. If you’re not sure where to start looking for gifts, I recommend stopping by all your favorite stores. More likely than not, they’ll have a special gift set out to celebrate. If you’re on lot’s of store subscriber lists you’ve probably already got a few gifts in your inventory that were sent out.
Virtual Diva’s Women’s Day gift is simply stunning. This is a fitmesh model, so you might need to use your alpha system a bit. You’ll need to join their fee free group to take this gown home. It’s really not a problem, since Virtual Diva also has several lovely past gifts out.
