It’s hard to believe I’ve been gallivanting around Second Life (SL) for over 10 years. At this rate, I’m going to have to start lying about my age on the day I joined SL. I swear I was only eighteen when I opened my Second Life account. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

I thought it would be fun to do a kind of “Now and Then” nod to my very first post Star Light, Star Bright. So, I’ve revisited one of my favorite freebie gateways.

Happy October! Let’s start off the month with a costume guaranteed to please Who Framed Roger Rabbit fans. Thanks to COCO DESIGNS, we can all have our very own Jessica Rabbit experience. The luscious red sequined gown and purple suede gloves are COCO DESIGNS’ latest group gifts.

Add a nice pair of heels from Hilly Haalan’s group gift area to complete the outfit.

Next, we’ll need some dramatic eyeshadow, and glossy lipstick. Zibska’s marketplace eyeshadow gift is absolutely gorgeous, can be worn by both mesh and classic avatars, and is free.

Finish off today’s look with another marketplace gift from Alli&Ali. The Jessica gift only comes in one shade, purple. Luckily for us, the hair is copy/mod which means a few tweaks in edit mode will create the exact color pictured above. Set the Hex color to fa1605, glow to 0.15, and check the Full Bright box to wash that purple right out of your hair.

These supple suede boots are an older style mesh coming in 3 sizes: Large, Medium, and Small with an alpha. Though made with classic avatars in mind, mesh bodied avatars that have a detailed alpha system can wear them too. Until next time, shop happy!

It’s hard to believe, but after four red outfits made from gifts currently available at Hilly Haalan & COCO DESIGNS I’m nowhere near exhausting the possibilities. Today’s outfit is a lovely body hugging lace design perfect for a romantic rendezvous. Best of all, it can be worn by both classic and mesh avatars.

The texturing on the Amanda dress is simply great. Pair it with one of the many sets of heels from the gift area, and you’re good to go. Enjoy!

The season of love is upon us! Currently there’s at least one Valentine’s Day hunt already underway, and many more are scheduled to start on February 1st. To celebrate the season, All Spiffed Up is going RED.

After the nonstop drool fest inspired by JUMO’s Designer’s Showcase gift, I decided a trip to their mainstore was in order. I will confess, I did part with a few of my Lindens. However, I also left the premises with yet another lovely free gift.

The Lillia Outfit is JUMO’s current gift for members of the SLF&O shopping group. Lillia comes in 5 standard sizes plus additional meshes for Maitreya, Slink, and Belleza bodies. Included in the gift is a straw handbag (not modeled). Thanks JUMO for another lovely gift.
FYI – This dress is beautifully sheer. If you plan on wearing this to a sim that bans nudity panties are definitely a must. Some of the best panties for mesh bodies can be found at Kaithleen’s. Their Universal Thong group gift rocks. You can see them in our Sci-Fi Noir post.

Here’s a closeup of the dogtag necklace from Sherbert. This great gift actually comes without pictures in the tags. It’s up to you to add your own. Our model decided to drop in a few botanical images.

Prepare yourselves for another wild fit of box opening. Designer’s Showcase is celebrating their 8th anniversary round! And, birthday/anniversary rounds mean loads of great free gifts.

I was so blown away by JUMO’s dazzlingly shiny silver gown that I almost missed the sumptuous grey stole tucked into the box. I know, hard to believe but true. The photo shoot was completed, and I was double checking the box for a possible alpha when I noticed a fitmesh + 5 standard sized models with the word fur in their descriptions.
OMG! It’s sooooooo FLUFFY! Did I mention no animals, virtual or otherwise, were harmed in the creation of this stole? The textures on this entire gift are outstanding. Thanks JUMO for such an amazing gift.

The featured earrings and eyes can also be found at Designer’s Showcase. The mesh eyes are a gift from Dulce Secrets. They come in 3 shades and are boxed with system eyes, mesh eyes, and Catwa/Lelutka appliers.
