Advent calendars are fantastic, frustrating, and festive all at the same time. I love getting daily gifts, hate when I miss a day, then squeal with merriment every time I cobble an outfit together. What can I say? It’s an advent thing.
Luckily for us, there are quite a few advent calendars out there that allow us to open up missed days with having to pay for the privilege. The first one I visited is at Emerald Couture (EC). EC has two advent calendars. One of which is free for all visitors, and allows the collecting of missed days. That is where you’ll find today’s cocktail dress, heels (sized for Slink high feet), head piece, and jewelry (not shown).
EC’s free advent calendar is great for anyone with Slink compatible feet, classic avatars (required alphas always supplied), and lovers of older style flexi flounced gowns that have been remastered with appliers. Thanks EC for thoughtfully including all avatars in the holiday fun!
Hair lovers prepare to go into a box opening frenzy after you visit EscalateD. Simply join EscalateD’s free to join group then get ready for a lot of clicking. Their advent calendar also allows the picking up of past gifts. Each hair comes with the winter color HUD, and many come with style HUDs too. All Spiffed Up for almost 3 years now, and though my avatar wears a different (not free) body and head as her default look, working with the
Altamura free bodies has slowly made me a huge fan of their work. I’m only sorry I didn’t know about Altamura when I bought my body.
My point: if you are a classic avatar that has no interest in changing your skin, or changing your look with makeup then I highly recommend choosing one of the free Altamura avatars that is available. The alpha system included with the Altamura free body is infinitely better than the alpha system that came with my expensive (well over due for an update) other brand body. And, Altamura bodies have Slink compatible feet! Think of all the lovely free shoes you’ll be able to wear.
Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to transition into using a bento avatar. Plus, if you join the group not only will you have access to loads of gifts throughout the year, but you’ll be supporting one of the most generous and helpful creators in Second Life.
